Piano Man.
It's
nine o'clock on a Saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin' love to his tonic and gin
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin' love to his tonic and gin
He says, "Son, can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes."
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes."
Diamond & Rust
Well , I'll be
damned
Here comes your ghost again
But that's not unusual
It's just that the moon is full and you happened to call
And here I sit, hand on the telephone
Hearing a voice I'd known a couple of light years ago
Heading straight for a fall
Here comes your ghost again
But that's not unusual
It's just that the moon is full and you happened to call
And here I sit, hand on the telephone
Hearing a voice I'd known a couple of light years ago
Heading straight for a fall
As I remember your
eyes
were bluer than robin's eggs
My poetry was lousy, you said
"Where were you calling from?"
"A booth in the Midwest"
Ten years ago I bought you some cufflinks
You brought me something
We both know what memories can bring
They bring diamond and rust
were bluer than robin's eggs
My poetry was lousy, you said
"Where were you calling from?"
"A booth in the Midwest"
Ten years ago I bought you some cufflinks
You brought me something
We both know what memories can bring
They bring diamond and rust
Live Band Version
David
David Cheang

David Cheang

David
Diamond
and Rust.
(Buckingham, 1998; Masterman 1993) 。
Diamond and
The institutions and practices, genres and
terms of high art are currently categories of exclusion more than of inclusion.
They have no connection with most young people and their lives. This may
encourage some artistic specialisations but they certainly discourage much
wider and more symbolic creativity… (Wills, 1990, p.1; Banaji, Burn and
Buckingham, 2006, p.21)
Most young people’s lives are not involved
with the arts and yet are actually full of expressions, signs and symbols
through which individuals and groups seek creatively to establish their
presence, identity and meaning…. This is the realm of living common culture. (Wills,
1990, p.1; Banaji, Burn and Buckingham, 2006, p.21)
genres and terms of art
