New Trend of Community Work in Social Work Practice


Social work practice focuses on the relationship between human beings and each of subject in social work curriculum facilitate students to learn how to work with diversified population in a society. Although, community work is still a core subject and the students need to acknowledge the importance of this field, the trend of social work tends to concentrate on individual work and group work in current circumstances. There are lots of reasons to explain this phenomenon, such as the social welfare policy and financial scanty. Notwithstanding the abovementioned reasons to change the provision of community work, some scholars emphasized that the utilization of online platform is an innovative way to provide community work in the coming future. For example, the mobilization of some resources through systematic online platform is more efficient and cost-effective than only through face-to-face communication. Therefore, in future social work practicum, a social work student may use more virtual site to facilitate his or her ordinary work.
