Time to change the program curriculum

In light of a research project conducted by Barr (2016), although use of information and communication technology (ICT) is a required skill competency in universities, the students are reluctant to apply ICT appropriately and effectively because of the problem of the curriculum. Since the program structure does not emphasize the use of online resources but only focuses on traditional learning materials. However, the Internet or a variety of online platforms can provide a wide and systematic databases for students to receive extensive information. Thus, it is necessary to design a curriculum to include the technology so as to facilitate to establish "signpost" for extensive learning resources, such as online books, journals and learning-related websites. In fact, Hong Kong envisages similar circumstances to determine whether the secondary or even primary educational institutions to include skill competencies of ICT in the foreseeable future.
